8th Challenge Update

Our original intention was to announce the 8th challenge on the subject of adsorption in activated carbons late in 2012 or early in 2013 with competition to conclude in the fall of 2013. However, despite our efforts, we have been unable to get the challenge problem ready in time to make this goal feasible. As is often the case, working out the details of the experimental measurements to supply the benchmark data has been a challenge in itself.

Our current plan is to continue working on the 8th challenge and announce it as soon as it is ready. The competition will conclude in the fall of 2014. The IFPSC session at 2013 AIChE annual meeting will feature invited talks on the subject of adsorption in carbons and provide a venue for discussion about the 8th challenge.
